Sabine Knust began work as an editor of prints and editions and organizer of exhibitions by artists such as Georg Baselitz, Dan Flavin, Imi Knoebel, Blinky Palermo, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter and Fred Sandback at the Galerie Heiner Friedrich in Munich. In 1982, she opened her own gallery on the Maximilianstraße. Since then, her work as both an editor and an art dealer steadily intensified. The gallery remained in the Maximilianstraße until the end of September 2004 and then moved to its present premises at Ludwigstraße 7, near Odeonsplatz. A second branch of the gallery opened in the year 2010 at Theresienstr. 48, right across from the Brandhorst Museum. Matthias Kunz joined the gallery as partner in 2004. Concerning the exhibition program, the gallery's focus is on international contemporary art spanning three generations. Simultaneously, between six and eight editorial projects are published each year. Recent projects include Georg Baselitz, Marc Brandenburg, Liam Gillick, Per Kirkeby, Jonathan Meese, Jorge Pardo, Daniel Richter, Gert & Uwe Tobias et.al. The current editions are regularly presented at art basel, art basel miami beach and the ifpa print fair.
