Join Master Printer Mohammad Omer Khalil (b. 1936, Burri, Sudan; lives and works in New York) for an artist-led walkthrough of his solo exhibition, Common Ground. Listen to the stories and techniques behind his etchings, his relationship with Bob Blackburn and the Printmaking Workshop, and collaborative projects including artists: Louise Nevelson, Jim Dine, Norman Lewis, Mavis Pusey, Vivian Browne, Camille Billops, Romare Bearden, Al Held, Sean Scully, and Emma Amos, among others. Khalil belongs to the first generation of Sudanese modern artists and is celebrated as the first printmaker to emerge from the Arab world. For over four decades, Mohammed taught hundreds of students from Pratt Institute, The New School, Columbia University, and New York University.
