Since opening his eponymous gallery in 1968, Brooke Alexander has been involved in many of the major movements and groups of artists ever since. His print publications include important art historical moments, from the Minimalists like Donald Judd to Pop Artists such as Ed Ruscha. He worked with the Realists of the 1970s to The Pictures Generation, Colab and Conceptualists such as John Baldessari.

Some of the more subtle subsects of Brooke Alexander’s publishing program could be viewed as an interest in Painters as Printmakers and Sculptors as Printmakers. The first editions Brooke Alexander published were with painter Josef Albers. The exploration continued in collaborations with painters such as Ellsworth Kelly, Sam Francis, Sean Scully, Imi Knoebel, and Robert Mangold. Brooke Alexander similarly & simultaneously worked with sculptors in addition to Judd, such as Joel Shapiro, Richard Tuttle and Fred Sandback.
