Join Phil Sanders, Author of Prints and Their Makers, recipient of the 2021 IFPDA Book Award for an intimate discussion and demonstration at the exhibition: Printer’s Picks: A Look at Priorities and Processes, at David Krut Projects, February 14, 3:30pm. Printer’s Picks is an in- depth look at why an artist makes and should make prints, how prints are made, and the business of print publishing. Sanders will discuss works in the exhibition as well as print watercolor monotypes by artists Glen Baldridge and Sara Sanders. The stories about how and why a particular work exists are often as intriguing as the works themselves and over the last fifteen years of Sanders working with David Krut in New York City, Johannesburg and London, there are many stories about all the decisions, inspirations, and heartaches behind each work. The prints, artists, and printers highlighted in this exhibition are drawn from the orbit of David Krut Projects in New York City. Some of these prints have not been seen in years while others are band new, never having been exhibited. The unifying factor amongst this diverse collection of prints is an unyielding pursuit of the artists’ intentions. The exhibition features work by Glen Baldridge, Deborah Bell, William Kentridge, Eddie Martinez, Sam Nhlengethwa, Sara Sanders, Dread Scott, Senzo Shabangu, James Siena, Diane Victor and many more.
